Insurance Market in Paraguay: 2019Q3 Overview
Paraguay´s insurance industry direct premiums totaled USD 104.5 million (1st Q 2019/2020) with premiums recorded by life/annuity insurers accounting for 16.8 percent, and premiums by property/casualty (P/C) insurers accounting for 83.2 percent.
P/C insurance consists primarily of auto, fire insurance, surety and transport. On the other hand, life insurance consists mainly of life insurance and personal accident risks.
There are 36 insurance companies in Paraguay. The ten most important insurers together manage 67% of the market volume.
