Highest market share growth ranking
The insurance market in Nicaragua has shown a positive performance in the first half of 2023, with a total volume of premiums intermediated by brokers and individual agents of C$ 2,932 million representing a year-on-year increase of 9.9%. This growth was driven mainly by the broker channel, which accounted for 96.4% of the total amount and increased its intermediation by 10.1% compared to the same period in 2022.
Among the brokers, some stood out for their remarkable growth in their market share, measured by the volume of premiums intermediated. The top five brokers with the highest increase in their market share were: LA NACIONAL, J.D.C JARQUÍN, TRUST CORREDURIA DE SEGUROS, CAPESA and G&M SEGUROS.
LA NACIONAL was the leader in this ranking, with a growth of 2.85% in its market share, reaching a total of C$ 220 million in premiums intermediated and a participation of 7.52% in the broker channel. J.D.C JARQUÍN followed closely behind, with a growth of 2.33% in its market share, reaching a total of C$152 million in premiums intermediated and a participation of 5.2%. TRUST CORREDURIA DE SEGUROS ranked third, with a growth of 1.88% in its market share, reaching a total of C$175 million in premiums intermediated and a participation of 6% in the broker and agents channel.
The fourth place was occupied by CAPESA, with a growth of 0.86% in its market share, reaching a total of C$ 116 million in premiums intermediated and a participation of 4%. Finally, G&M SEGUROS closed the top five with a growth of 0.70% in its market share, reaching a total of C$ 52 million in premiums intermediated and a participation of 1.8% in the intermediaries channel.
