Chile’s insurance market reached USD 9.275 billion in premiums by June 2026 across life and non-life business, compared with USD 8.446 billion in the same period of 2025. This represents nominal year-on-year growth of 9.8%, confirming continued expansion in one of Latin America’s most developed insurance markets.

Competition remains broad, with 62 insurers operating in the Chilean market as of June 2026. Despite this relatively large number of participants, premium concentration is significant among the leading companies, particularly in the life insurance segment.

CONSORCIO NACIONAL VIDA ranked as Chile’s largest insurer by market share, accounting for 13.8% of total premiums, narrowly ahead of METLIFE VIDA with 13.7%. CONFUTURO VIDA ranked third with a 10.1% share, giving the three leading insurers a combined market share of 37.7%.

The remainder of the Top 10 was composed of BICE VIDA, PENTA VIDA, HDI SEGUROS GENERALES, BCI SEGUROS GENERALES, SURAMERICANA GENERALES, 4 LIFE SEGUROS VIDA and MAPFRE GENERALES. The ranking illustrates the coexistence of major life and non-life specialists within a competitive market structure, while the 37.7% concentration among the three largest insurers highlights the strong position of leading players in Chile’s insurance industry.
