Peru Banking Market Report 2024: Key Financial Data and Leading Institutions

As of December 2024, the Peruvian banking sector recorded total assets of 147390 million USD. The credit portfolio amounted to 89497 million USD, while total deposits stood at 101153 million USD. The sector's total revenue reached 12855 million USD. Net equity was reported at 19282 million USD, and the pre-tax result was 3628 million USD.

The year-over-year variation in total assets was 7.0%. The credit portfolio registered an increase of 1.4%. Deposits showed a growth of 13.0%. Revenues increased by 4.0%, while net equity rose by 5.6%. The pre-tax result saw a rise of 12.2%.

The top five banks by total assets were Banco de Crédito del Perú, with 52963 million USD, followed by Banco BBVA Perú with 30225 million USD. Interbank ranked third with 19902 million USD, while Scotiabank Perú held 19134 million USD in assets. Banco Interamericano de Finanzas completed the top five with 5938 million USD.

Regarding net income, Banco de Crédito del Perú led the ranking with 1417.6 million USD. Banco BBVA Perú followed with 512.6 million USD. Scotiabank Perú reported 260.2 million USD, while Interbank posted 253.7 million USD. Citibank secured the fifth position with a net result of 114.5 million USD.

In terms of net equity, Banco de Crédito del Perú remained the leader with 6784.5 million USD. Banco BBVA Perú held 3613.9 million USD, while Scotiabank Perú reported 3236.0 million USD. Interbank recorded a net equity of 2297.5 million USD, and Mibanco rounded out the top five with 690.1 million USD.
