Mexico Financial Institutions: Net Profit Ranking and Market Competition, June 2026


Mexico’s financial sector recorded a net result of USD 8.570 billion as of June 2026, based on 53 financial institutions analyzed, of which 45 reported profits during the period. The concentration of earnings remained significant: BBVA MÉXICO led the ranking with USD 2.772 billion in net profit, followed by BANORTE with USD 1.424 billion and SANTANDER with USD 1.060 billion. The ranking continued with BANAMEX, INBURSA, SCOTIABANK, CITI MÉXICO, BANCO DEL BAJÍO, HSBC and COMPARTAMOS, although the available data does not specify their individual results in the period.

The earnings structure highlights the degree of concentration within Mexico’s financial industry: the three leading institutions—BBVA MÉXICO, BANORTE and SANTANDER—generated 61.3% of the sector’s total net profit.
