The ranking of the five competitors that have had the greatest growth in market share during the first quarter of 2023 in number of clients shows that NU BANK (including NU PAGAMENTOS) has led with a growth of 1.30% in market share. They were followed by C6BANK (+0.25%), BTGPACTUAL (+0.17%), MERCANTIL (+0.14%) and INTER (+0.10%).
This competition dynamic has occurred in a growing market. At the end of the second quarter of 2023, 4.3 billion credit card transactions were registered in Brazil (8% more than in the same period of 2022). Debit card transactions reached 3.9 billion (5% year-on-year growth) and prepaid card transactions rose 9% to 1.9 billion. The above implies a total of 10.2 billion transactions and a year-on-year growth of the market in number of operations of 7% year-on-year.
