Bolivia’s insurance market reached USD 431 million in premiums as of June 2026, covering life, non-life, surety, mandatory and prepaid insurance business. This represented a nominal year-on-year increase of 4.5%, compared with USD 412 million recorded in June 2025. The market therefore maintained positive growth during the first half of 2026, consolidating its position within the Latin American insurance landscape.

Competition in the Bolivian insurance sector comprises 18 insurers when life and non-life entities are considered separately. Market concentration remains moderate, with the three leading insurers accounting for a combined 33.8% of total premiums. This structure indicates that, although a limited group of companies holds a significant portion of the market, the sector continues to include a relatively broad range of competing insurance entities.

NACIONAL SEGUROS VIDA Y SALUD ranked first with a 12.1% market share, followed by UNIVIDA with 10.9% and ALIANZA with 10.8%. These three companies jointly represented 33.8% of the market, establishing the leading competitive group at the close of June 2026. Their positions reflect the importance of both specialized life insurance operations and diversified insurance groups within the Bolivian market.

The remainder of the Top 10 ranking was composed by LA BOLIVIANA CIACRUZ PERSONALES in fourth place, LA BOLIVIANA CIACRUZ in fifth, GRUPO FINANCIERO BISA in sixth, ALIANZA VIDA in seventh, CREDINFORM in eighth, UNIBIENES in ninth and NACIONAL SEGUROS PATRIMONIALES in tenth. Together, these companies complete the principal competitive landscape of Bolivia’s insurance industry as measured by market share at June 2026.
