As of December 2024, the number of clients with consumer credit in Brazil reached 299.6 million. This represents a quarterly growth of 2.5% and an annual increase of 9.6%. The total number of credit operations stood at 822.3 million, with a quarterly growth of 3.0% and an annual rise of 19.5%.

Comparing the market’s performance over the last ten years, there has been an increase of 181 million clients with consumer credit since 2014, which represents a 154% growth over the decade. The number of active credit operations at year-end also grew by 281 million, showing the same decade-long growth rate of 154%.

Competitors, leaders and rankings

The top ten competitors by market share in number of clients as of December 2024 were Nubank, Itaú, Bradesco, Santander, Caixa Econômica Federal, Banco do Brasil (BB), Banco CSF S.A., BTG Pactual | Pan, C6 Bank, Banco Original, and Inter. These ten institutions together accounted for 64.88% of all clients with consumer credit products.
