How the APS© works
At the core of the study is the App Popularity Score (APS)© a metric designed to go beyond simple App ratings and review counts.
The App Popularity Score© (APS) is an exclusive user-experience metric developed from our proprietary surveys of mobile app users across Latin America. It is a comprehensive metric that shows how users really feel about an App
Unlike traditional app store ratings, the APS© is designed to capture both quantitative and qualitative insights about how users truly perceive and experience Apps.
Our surveys are conducted regularly and consistently over time, allowing us to: Measure current user perception of each App in a given country; track performance trends over time, identifying improvements or deteriorations in user experience and compare apps against the APS Benchmark, a reference level representing the performance typically achieved by the highest-rated apps in a given industry and country, according to users themselves
Survey Methodology
RankingsLatAm conducted this online survey between May 11, 2026, and June 12, 2026, to gain insights into user attitudes, perceptions, and experiences regarding Banking and Fintech Apps in Uruguay.
The study was conducted through an online consumer panel. Participants were screened to include individuals who actively use one or more financial applications on a regular basis. The survey collected information regarding preferred finance apps, user frustrations and complaints, perceived strengths and valued features, and satisfaction levels for frequently used applications.
A total of 4250 panel members responses were received. Following screening, survey completion, and data quality validation procedures, 3461 valid responses were obtained, resulting in an effective valid response rate of approximately 81%.
The final sample size of completed interviews provides an estimated statistical margin of error of ±3.1% at a 95% confidence level under maximum variability assumptions (p=50%). This level of precision provides a solid basis for comparative analysis across financial applications and for identifying key user perception trends.
Results should be interpreted considering that online panel studies use a non-probability sampling approach; therefore, the stated margin of error represents an estimated statistical reference rather than an exact population parameter.
