Direct written premiums in Paraguay (Life and non-Life)
The volume of direct insurance premiums in Paraguay reached G$ 1,895 billion at the end of December 2023, reflecting a notable 10.3% interannual nominal growth.
When considering all life and non-life coverages, MAPFRE secured the top position in market share, claiming 14.1%, followed by ASEGURADORA DEL ESTE with 11.3%, and ASEGURADORA YACYRETA with 6.7%.
Within the non-life coverage category, MAPFRE also led with a 16.7% share, while ASEGURADORA DEL ESTE and LA CONSOLIDADA followed closely with 10.2% and 8.1% market share, respectively.
Turning to life/personal insurance businesses, ITAU SEGUROS emerged as the leader with a commanding 17.8% market share, trailed by ASEGURADORA DEL ESTE with 15.8% and ASEGURADORA YACYRETA with 8.9%.
Examining market share growth in the total direct premium volume, ROYAL claimed the top spot with an impressive increase of +3.3 market share points. YACYRETA secured the second position with +1.07, followed by ALIANZA GARANTIA with +0.95%. ITAU SEGUROS and LA RURAL rounded out the top five leaders in this indicator with growth of +0.52 and +0.49 market share points, respectively.
