Direct written premiums in Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic's insurance market witnessed a substantial increase in direct premium volume, reaching 115,3 billion Dominican Pesos in December 2023. This marked a significant rise from the previous year's figure of 96,3 million Dominican Pesos, with an annual variation of 19.7%.
SEGUROS UNIVERSAL secured the top position in market share, commanding 20.7%, followed by SEGUROS RESERVAS with 17.4%. HUMANO SEGUROS, MAPFRE, and LA COLONIAL DE SEGUROS held notable shares of 15.6%, 10.7%, and 8.3%, respectively.
SEGUROS UNIVERSAL secured the top position in market share, commanding 20.7%, followed by SEGUROS RESERVAS with 17.4%. HUMANO SEGUROS, MAPFRE, and LA COLONIAL DE SEGUROS held notable shares of 15.6%, 10.7%, and 8.3%, respectively.
Leading the market share growth trajectory, SEGUROS RESERVAS showcased a significant increase of 2.17%. Other top insurers, namely GENERAL DE SEGUROS, SEGUROS WORLDWIDE, COOPERATIVA NACIONAL DE SEGUROS, and LA COLONIAL DE SEGUROS, demonstrated also notable gains at +0.53, +0.21, +0.06, and +0.05, in that order.
