According to the findings, the Honduran banking sector reached total assets of USD 43.5 billion, with loan portfolios amounting to USD 27.1 billion and total deposits slightly below at USD 26.7 billion. Net equity stood at USD 3.16 billion, while the aggregate final result for the system reached USD 105 million. These figures reflect a solid year-on-year nominal growth in U.S. dollars across all major metrics, with assets and loan portfolios both expanding by 7.8%, deposits growing by 8.3%, net equity increasing by 6.7%, and net income rising by 6.2%.

The report highlights Banco de Occidente as the most profitable institution in the country, posting a final result of USD 41 million. It is followed by BANPAIS and BAC Credomatic, with profits of USD 17.9 million and USD 17.7 million respectively, while FICOHSA and Banco Atlántida reported earnings of USD 11.5 million and USD 10.8 million each.
In terms of market share by total assets, the five leading banks hold a combined 80.2% of the market. FICOHSA leads with an 18.6% share, closely followed by Banco Atlántida at 18.0%, and BAC Credomatic with 15.8%. Banco de Occidente and BANPAIS complete the top five, with 15.6% and 12.1% respectively.
When focusing on loan portfolios, Banco Atlántida ranks first with a 20.2% market share, followed by FICOHSA at 18.0% and BAC Credomatic at 15.1%. Banco de Occidente and BANPAIS are tied with 13.5% each. On the deposit side, Banco Atlántida is again the top performer, capturing 20.7% of total deposits, ahead of Banco de Occidente with 16.8%, FICOHSA with 15.9%, and BAC Credomatic with 15.7%. BANPAIS holds 11.1%, rounding out the leading group.
