Argentina Banking & Fintech Apps Survey 2026: Mercado Pago Leads User Satisfaction Rankings as Digital Banking Competition Intensifies

The Argentine digital financial services market continues to evolve rapidly, with user experience becoming one of the main competitive differentiators among banking and fintech applications. As consumers increasingly rely on mobile platforms for payments, transfers, investments and everyday financial management, customer satisfaction has become a critical indicator of long-term competitiveness.

According to the market research updated with the latest information available through June 2026, the survey evaluated 30 banking and fintech applications operating in Argentina, providing a comprehensive view of user satisfaction across the country's digital financial ecosystem.

Overall Industry Performance

The survey shows that the sector achieved an average APS Score of 59.9 points, indicating that while users generally maintain a positive perception of banking and fintech applications, there is still considerable room for improvement across the industry.

On average, 64% of users qualified as highly satisfied customers (FANs), while 24% were classified as dissatisfied users (CRITICS). These figures illustrate that many applications continue to face challenges in consistently delivering superior digital experiences capable of generating stronger customer loyalty.

The report also establishes competitive benchmarks required to achieve a leading market position in Argentina. Applications seeking to stand out against competitors should target at least 85% FANs, limit CRITICS to just 6% of users, and reach an APS Score of 82.5 points. Compared with these benchmarks, the current industry averages reveal a significant gap between overall market performance and best-in-class customer experience.

Top-Ranked Applications by APS Score

Among the 30 applications evaluated, MERCADO PAGO secured the highest APS Score, followed by CUENTA DNI, MODO, GALICIA, and BRUBANK. These applications demonstrated the strongest overall balance between customer satisfaction and user experience during the second quarter of 2026.

The rankings suggest that both fintech companies and traditional financial institutions are successfully competing in Argentina's digital banking landscape, reflecting a mature and increasingly sophisticated market.

Applications Generating the Highest Customer Satisfaction

When measured by the proportion of highly satisfied users, MERCADO PAGO once again ranked first, ahead of CUENTA DNI and BRUBANK.

A high concentration of FANs generally indicates that users perceive strong value in the application's usability, functionality, reliability and overall digital experience, factors that can contribute to higher engagement and customer retention.

Applications with the Lowest Share of Dissatisfied Users

The survey also evaluated the proportion of dissatisfied customers, where lower percentages indicate greater consistency in meeting user expectations.

In this category, MERCADO PAGO achieved the strongest performance, followed by MODO and UALA ARGENTINA, suggesting these applications were more successful at minimizing negative customer experiences compared with the rest of the market.

MERCADO PAGO Expands Its Position Through a Broad Financial Ecosystem

The survey results place MERCADO PAGO at the top of multiple customer satisfaction indicators, reflecting the company's ability to offer an extensive portfolio of digital financial services within a single mobile application.

The platform combines a digital account with investment features that allow users to generate daily returns on available balances while maintaining immediate access to their funds. It also supports dollar transactions, enabling users to buy, sell, transfer and hold U.S. dollars directly from the application.

Digital payments remain one of the platform's core capabilities. Users can make purchases through QR codes at a large network of merchants while choosing among multiple payment methods, including account balances, payment cards and available credit lines. The application also integrates discounts and promotional offers available through participating merchants.

Beyond payments, the application centralizes a wide range of everyday financial activities. Users can pay thousands of utility bills and services, schedule automatic payments, receive due-date reminders, recharge mobile phones, top up transportation cards and manage toll payments from the same interface.

The digital account includes access to a free international prepaid Mastercard card. Users receive a virtual card immediately after opening an account and may also request a physical contactless card for in-person purchases.

Instant money transfers represent another central feature of the platform, allowing users to send funds free of charge to other MERCADO PAGO accounts, bank accounts and compatible digital wallets.

The application also integrates consumer lending products. Eligible users may finance purchases through installment plans without requiring a traditional credit card or apply for personal loans that are credited directly into their accounts. Loan proceeds can subsequently be used for purchases, QR payments, service payments or transfers.

Artificial intelligence has also become part of the platform's value proposition through an integrated AI assistant designed to help users manage routine financial activities and simplify everyday tasks.

The platform additionally offers digital accounts for users from the age of 10, providing access to prepaid cards, digital payments, transfers and other financial services intended for younger customers entering the formal financial ecosystem.

For merchants and small businesses, the application incorporates a complete payment acceptance ecosystem that supports QR payments, payment links, online transactions and card payments through the company's Point terminals. Business users may also access financing products designed to support commercial activity through a fully digital application process.

Outlook

The latest survey indicates that Argentina's banking and fintech sector continues to compete primarily on customer experience rather than solely on product availability. While the industry maintains a solid base of satisfied users, the distance between average market performance and the benchmarks associated with market leadership remains substantial.

As digital financial services continue expanding their functionality, institutions capable of combining convenience, reliability, innovation and customer satisfaction are likely to strengthen their competitive position in one of Latin America's most dynamic fintech markets.
